The Orchestre national Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will be touring the United States between April 12 and 20, 2024 for a series of concerts. The orchestra will be led by principal conductor Thomas Zehetmair, with cellist Sung-Won Yang as soloist, and will perform with a 25-strong orchestra of string and wind players.

This world-class orchestra, traveling all the way to Anderson from France will perform a selection of music that truly represents the INMC’s international nature! Playing pieces from Austrian composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn, and Hungary’s Béla Bartók.

The first concert will be held on April 14, 2024 at the Henderson Auditorium, located on Anderson University’s campus (SC), to mark the opening of the 4th Conference of the International Network of the Michelin Cities.

Another concert will be hosted on April 16 by Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and its musicology department.

Finally, their last concert will take place in Norman (OK) on April 19, 2024, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cities’ twinning with Clermont-Ferrand. The 3 mayors who have led this city over the past 30 years, as well as the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand will be reunited there.
