On April 25-27 2023, the Conference “Together into the future. Together sustainable” took place in Regensburg, an international dialogue that focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Experts and specialists from Regensburg and its sister cities Brixen, Budavár, Clermont-Ferrand, Odessa, Pilsen, Qingdao and Tempe as well as INMC member cities Magog (Canada), Valladolid and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain) took part in the hybrid conference to exchange ideas on the topic of sustainability.
“The 2030 Agenda is both an opportunity and a challenge for cities worldwide. The City of Regensburg offers a concept to intensify the exchange of expertise on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals with the partner cities and to promote synergy effects with regard to future topics” said Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer.
The main topics of the conference were “Climate-friendly economic growth”(SDG 8 and 13), “Production of clean energy” (SDG 7) and “Sustainable mobility” (SDG 9).
The different cities had the opportunity to present their respective projects and initiatives, to exchange experiences in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and to agree on future cooperation.
The city of Clermont-Ferrand, whose Mayor Olivier Bianchi is co-president of the International Network of Michelin Cities, also invited the cities present to participate in the 4th INMC Conference in Anderson (SC-USA) from 16 to 18 April 2024, in order to continue the collaboration.
