The Orchestre national Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will go on tour in the United States between April 12 and 20, 2024, performing a series of concerts. The orchestra will be led by principal conductor Thomas Zehetmair, with cellist Sung-Won Yang as soloist. The orchestra will be made up of 25 musicians and players of string and wind instruments.
This world-class orchestra, traveling all the way from France to Anderson, will perform a selection of pieces that truly represents the INMC’s international nature, from Austrian composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn to Hungary’s Béla Bartók.
The first concert will be held on April 14, 2024 at the Henderson Auditorium, based on Anderson University’s campus (SC). It will mark the opening of the 4th Conference of the International Network of the Michelin Cities.
Another concert will be hosted on April 16 by Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and its musicology department.
Finally, the orchestra will give a final concert in Norman (OK) on April 19, 2024, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cities’ twinning with Clermont-Ferrand. The 3 former mayors will be gathered around Norman’s current mayor as well as the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand.
