INMC and ARTEMIS launch a Call for Applications for Young Innovators

Intenational students

As part of the upcoming International Network of Michelin Cities (INMC) Meetings, which will take place in Cuneo (Italy) from October 5 to 9, 2026, the International Network of Michelin Cities (INMC), in partnership with Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA) and “ARTEMIS” — a consortium of European universities led by UCA — is launching an international call for projects aimed at students from universities that are members of both networks. The objective is to involve them during these three days of conferences and to offer them the opportunity for a shared reflection on climate challenges.

Students at the heart of the water emergency

Increasing droughts, floods, urban water stress, pollution of resources… Water-related issues are now among the most urgent climate challenges, with each territory needing to address them according to its own characteristics.

The importance of these issues has prompted the INMC and ARTEMIS networks to invite their students to work together, beyond borders and disciplines, to imagine concrete responses adapted to local realities.

From the development of intelligent tools for water management, irrigation, and ecosystem protection to the creation of awareness-raising campaigns, all innovative ideas are welcome.

An international collaborative project

The selected students will be grouped into three international teams composed of students from different universities.

According to their interests, they will work on one of the following three themes:

  • Urban policies and climate: management of water use, public campaigns, sustainable infrastructures
  • Nature preservation: rivers, biodiversity, sensory experiences related to water
  • Agriculture and climate adaptation: water scarcity, smart irrigation, resilience to flooding

From April to September 2026, the teams will develop their projects with the support of experts in order to structure and strengthen their proposals.

Participation and presentation of the collaborative work at the Cuneo Meetings

The highlight of the program: students will be invited to take part in the 5th INMC Meetings, which will be held in Cuneo, Italy, from October 5 to 9, 2026.

The three groups will be able to attend conferences and workshops, and present their work to an international audience.

A unique opportunity

Beyond a simple academic project, this initiative offers:

  • An international and interdisciplinary experience for participating students
  • Networking opportunities with international stakeholders
  • A concrete opportunity to contribute to discussions and to take part in addressing water management in the context of climate change.

With this initiative, the INMC and ARTEMIS networks reaffirm their commitment to placing young people at the heart of the transformations needed to build a sustainable future.
