Kremenchuk is a non-negligible Ukrainian industrial city. It is home to the Ukrtatnafta oil refinery, the largest in Ukraine, and the only one active in the country for a while. However, the refinery was out of operation since the Russian invasion in 2022. Additionally, Kremenchuk hosts a large industrial company which manufactures locomotives, as well as a major hydroelectric power plant. However, the latter was hit by a Russian strike in October 2022. In 2005, Kremenchuk contributed to 7% of the national economy.
Although there is no Michelin plant in Kremenchuk, the city shares common interests and values with the other members of the International Network of Michelin Cities. Besides, it is twinned with the city of Clermont-Ferrand, France.
